Christmas Day!

Christmas was great again this year! The kids all got things they requested and we were able to spend time with family and friends. I must have been having so much fun that I didn't take as many pictures this year. Santa requested that each of the kids work hard at school, be nice to each other and that Jaxon not throw or kick the balls in the house! Hopefully they will listen so he can come again next year!

Abbie got some earrings and an earring Holder
Jaxon go some new Geo Trax the one with the airplane

Everyone was over for breakfast and family gifts. Grandma See gave us all a trip to Disney Land. It was really cool. She gave each kid an envelope with a few puzzle pieces. The kids had to put the puzzle together to figure out the present. Grandpa had the last piece so he is going as well!

Jaxon with all his toys. (I wish these pictures would have turned out better) He got his remote controlled truck that he asked for!

We went to Salt Lake to visit Bob and his family at the U of U. Bob was tired and didn't get up in the chair. Me and Jason were visiting with him in his room when Denis broke the 14 and under rule and brought Jaxon and Abbie back to see him. As they left the nurse stoped them and gave them each a gift. Some families donated gifts for the patients to give the children as they visited. It was really special for the kids to get to open a present from "Bob" while visiting. As you can see from below they really enjoyed them. I have never thought of this kind of a donation but it was really cool.

Christmas Eve Activities

Christmas Eve Activities started early Friday afternoon with activities and games at Connie and Eric's. We even got Riley to participate in the Nativity play this year! He was thrilled to wear the pink robe and play Joseph. We have Ash the Shepard, Jax and Shelby the sheep, Abbie the angel :), Daniel and Kayla the wisemen and Hannah as Mary. Later that evening we headed to Bob and Christine's for more games and fun! The Kids always love decorating Christmas treats with Kayla friendly frosting and candy. This year Connie made sugar cookies of Christmas trees and snowmen. The kids had a blast. They also decorated sticker wreaths and nativity sets. Carol was in charge of one of the games. We had the "Candy Cane" derby! It was a blast! We divided into teams to see who could make the best car! Make sure you watch some the video! Riley was really determined to win! However they were last - despite his multi attempts to win. Connie made Christmas Mad Gab! What a blast. She did a great job! There are some video of this as well. Merry Christmas from Jaxon!!

Jaxon didn't want to fix the tree this year (see the last 2 years Christmas posts). He thought he would help me wrap presents instead! He has also taken up singing to himself while he plays, the video is of him singing jingle bells and we wish you a Merry Christmas(you might want to pause the blog music to hear him)! He was able to get his picture taken with one of the "Santa Buddies" dogs (pet therapy) while visiting Bob on Friday. He thought it was cool that the dog was wearing a hat and bells. Merry Christmas from Jaxon!!

Salt Lake City

We had the opportunity to spend some time with Jason's family this weekend in SLC. Jaxon spent along time looking at Baby Jesus. He wanted to know why they were able to float and why the didn't sink or move with the water. Jason and Janice (twins) Jaxon is peering over the bench as they all sit with Jer giving them lots of info on the organ and building. Jaxon and the Baa's

Our main reason for going to Salt Lake was to visit with Christine and the kids. Uncle Bob was injured in a electrical accident last Monday at work. Bob is such an important part of our family. He has always been there for Jason since he was a tiny boy. In fact just a few months ago me and Bob were talking about them taking Jaxon hunting. He said that Jason was about the same age, even younger when he started dating Christine. He took Jason everywhere with them. It still wasn't really comforting knowing my little buddy boy was old enough to go "hunting with Bob" but I sent him anyway and of course he had a great time on the mountain.

I was a little hesitant about taking the kids in to the waiting room of the hospital but I knew that Denise had wanted to see my little Jaxon Man. We had talked with the kids about Bob's accident and how he was hurt. Along with this we had talked about how grateful we all were that he was alive and doing so well. We had talked with Jaxon about how Bob will get a special leg. We were only going to stay out in the front of the hospital for Denise to come down but of course she talked us and Jax in to coming and seeing the toys in the room. Ab and Jax made special pictures and notes for each of them. (He picked a Cat picture for RaAnn :)) All who know Christine won't be surprised at this but she had a book with pictures of Bob and his bandages. Denise was showing Jaxon and the kids. All Jaxon just wanted to know was "where's the metal". He is ready to see the "metal leg" and doesn't quite understand how long everything will take.

We didn't expect to see Bob because the nursing staff said they wanted him to rest. As we all were talking and the nurse came in and said they were getting Bob up in his Chair and wanted to know if we wanted him to come into the waiting area. Of course we were all delighted that he could get out of bed and that we could see him. I wasn't sure how the kids would react and really thought about taking them for a long walk. I am so glad that I let them stay as it was so good for them to see and hear Bob talk and joke with them. As we waited for him to come in Jax was sitting by Denise with his legs crossed, I could tell he was pondering something. He leaned over to Denise and said "What is taking them so long". I am sure it as good for Bob to see them as it was for my kids. It was perfect timing for us to visit.

Bob sat out with us for about 30 mins talking and moving showing the kids and everyone how he was doing. Santa's helpers were in delivering Christmas trees to the patients. (It was on Fox 13 news that night)He stopped by and sang carols and talked to the kids. Ashlee was told that santa doesn't bring life size Ken dolls so a boyfriend for Christmas was not available. Good thing she only likes sports and not boys, only to beat them on the field!

We went to dinner and Temple square after with Jason's sister Janice, Jer and the boys. What a beautiful place to end our evening. Temple Square. Watching the Nativity and listening to President Monson. A Perfect way to end the evening!
I can't get the Santa video to load but this one works.
