The fishing trip definitely was a highlight of our cruise. We spent 3 hours fishing with the fishermen, Bill, Jeremy and Kyle on the Magnum II. Kyle was Bill's grandson and was learning the ropes. He didn't do bad for a 14 year old. Jeremy really earned his money with our trip. It must have been lady luck as they would continue to say. We caught 24 fish total. Four others were either to little or got off prior to getting in the boat. Jason didn't even complain about getting his picture taken here. It really was a beautiful place.
Our fish - 1 King (big one in the middle) 4 Chum (big dark one on your right side) 3 Silver (big silver one on your left side) and the rest are pink.
The marina - the boat we were on is the big white at the first backwards L.

This was not deep sea fishing it was close to shore with several other boats around us.
We had four different poles out at different levels and with different bait on them. The fish bat was Jason's favorite part of the trip. He liked whacking a fish.
We started catching fish right off. We took turns every 4th a we all had plenty of fish. We asked Jeremy how many fish they usually catch as Carol's and Derrek's last trip was not good. They only caught 1 fish between them all. He would not tell us. But he did say that we had Lady Luck on our side.
carol and her king - what where is Derrek?

Most of the time our main fisherman stayed under driving and looking for fish. When a King is on all the poles are pulled in and he moves to the top of the boat to help watch and to chase the king driving from top the boat if needed. The Kings Swim away very fast pulling. Carol got a work out!

a pretty good start for the first 30 minutes of fishing

eagles circling

Catching fish was fun but it really was a pretty place. Seeing the wildlife and just being on the water was great.
We caught a cooler full, finally Jeremy said that we caught alot more that usual. They don't usually catch as many as we got on a full day of fishing. So when you go fishing make sure you take some women with ya for some lady luck! Could have been that we were raised by a fisherman!

They run the Submarines in the area where we were for testing. They monitor the noises so they know that they are US subs.
Seeing as we most likely won't be fishing here again we can give you a shot of the hot fishin' spot.
