We spent a few hours cruising into Glacier Bay. The waters were so calm it was majestic. It was cold but Carol and I stood behind the glass pillars. Jason and Derrick, of course had their binoculars out looking for wild life. I didn't see any of the glacier fall off but I did hear it crash. We were very lucky on this trip to see the tops of the mountains. They say that there is only about 50 days a year that are not cloud covered.

I thought the dirty appearing glacier was land. It is a glacier. They say that depending on where the ice slides from makes the appearance. The pretty blue glass ones come down the rocky mountain areas where there is not much dirt unlike this large one that picked up all the land as it passed making in dirty.

It was amazing to me how this big ship could turn completely around in such a small space. They also like playing the music from the Titanic, it was really comforting! :)
This is what the earth looks like after the glacier is gone. They say that the glacier cleans the land so that new vegetation can come and prepares it for the beautiful green scenery that it leaves behind
There are several glacier's in this bay. Here are a couple of photo's of the other ones. Some have wildlife around them that are protected so you can't sail close to them.
