SKAGWAY - White Pass Yukon Train Ride

Our second tour of the day was the White Pass Yukon Train Ride. It was an old style train that crept up along side of the mountain. It was build many years ago to gold rushers. Before it was made people would walk several days along the bottom of the river. It was really cool but as most of you know I hate heights and this was right on the side of the mountain with cliffs straight down. Not to mention the bridges we went over. .The sights were beautiful. We crossed the boarder but didn't need passports as we didn't leave the train. I really enjoyed this ride and took lots of videos for Jax to watch. look close you can see the boat straight down They had to make new bridges and the old one was not stable. They didn't tear it down and it is now one of the oldest bridges still standing. I'm really glad we didn't cross it. Entering the tunnel This piece of land is owned by all five towards the sea tracks with bridge along mountain train crossing the bridge look towards the mountain for the bridge we just crossed This waterfall continued down the entire mountain. The next picture is a continuation down towards the river The painted reference "on to Alaska with Buchanan" refers to the kids that President Buchanan sent to Alaska to work. They enjoyed their experience so much that wanted everyone coming to see it. They repaint the sign each year in remembrance. Video looking down from the train to the river below. Announcer telling the story of the man who made the toll road.
